A cool scene in the clubhouse before Wednesday night’s series finale at Turner Field — Matt Duffy sitting off to the side while his taped interview on MLB Network’s “Intentional Talk” was shown in the middle of the room.
“Atta boy, Duff,” several amused players shouted out during the bit, which had little to do with baseball and a lot to do with his oversized cat Skeeter and other important stuff.
“He’s a big boy, man,” Duffy told Chris Rose and Kevin Millar about his cat. “I don’t really remember any point he was medium size. I feel like he was a kitten, and the next thing I knew he was looking like Garfield.”
The cat has weighed at between 30 and 35 pounds, but Duffy said it’s down to 28.
“He’s made a life decision,” Duffy said. “He’s losing weight. He’s getting healthy.”
